Illumina-Climate Action Challenge

The Future is Bio-Logical

The Climate Action Challenge is in partnership with Illumina, a global leader in genomics, providing DNA sequencing and array-based technologies for research, clinical, and applied markets, aiming to improve human health by analyzing genetic variation and function, with products for oncology, reproductive health, and drug discovery.

Climate Action Challenge aims to enhance education on Climate Change and improve the environmental sustainability of the communities, green economy. It is a National Level Competition focused on solving the Climate Change with the help of Biotechnology and STEM. Students can work on any of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) .

The Climate Action Challenge aims to enhance education on Climate Change and its impact on planet  Earth and the communities .​

​The Competition will enable students to build  prototype based solutions on any of the SDG themes/Challenges adopted, and work on solving real world challenges with the help of Biotechnology in the Green Economy.

The objectives are:

  • To build climate awareness among students and encourage them to take action through solution-driven thinking.

  • To bring out innovation in sustainability, make use of STEM, and help develop entrepreneurship skills in the them.

Students should aim to create a Prototype which can have an impact on community or improve economy/livelihood of the community.
